Help and Frequently Asked Questions.

We have tried to keep this help section short, straightforward and free of endless "terms and conditions". Experience has shown us that our customers have a friendly and common sense approach to using our company. Therefore, if you have questions or problems not dealt with by this section, please either return to the home page and explore the many ways of searching, or contact us.

Using the search facilities -
The simplest way to browse our website is to select a language from the drop down menu and click 'Go'. You are then presented, on the left hand side of the screen, with list of suggestions to narrow down your search. At any point, you may arrange the results by author, title or price. If you cannot find the title you are looking for in this way, please contact us

Postage and delivery-
We aim to offer a fair pricing structure on postage. All UK orders are despatched post free, by post or courier. Worldwide orders are despatched by airmail post or courier and are charged at 20% of order value. All orders are despatched in excellent packaging with a full invoice.

Stock -
Whilst we carry high stock levels, we do regret that we do sometimes run out of stock for short periods. We suggest that you enquire about stock availabilty, using the "Enquire about this title" facility that appears next to each book on the "Book details" page. If the title you order is not in stock, we will endeavour to e-mail you straight away, giving an estimated delivery time, an option to cancel the order and suitable alternative titles that are in stock.

Payment -

Please note that we only take payment from your credit card when we actually despatch the title.

Script/Char & Roman-
When we use the word "Script" in a description, we refer to the non-English text being given in the script of the language concerned. When we use the word "Roman" or "Romanised" we refer to the non-English text being given in the Latin (as used in English) letters. Therefore, if for example an Arabic dictionary is described as "Script" then it is all in the Arabic script. If the same dictionary is described as "Roman" then all the Arabic words are in Latin letters (so an English speaker with no knowledge of Arabic can read or speak it). If it is described as "Script and Roman" then both forms are used. Likewise, when we use the word "Char" it refers to the characters of the language being used, as in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.

Returns -
We consider each request to return a title on a individual basis. In the unlikely event of a title arriving faulty or damaged, please contact us immediately to arrange a return and replacement.

Security -
Our website, ordering process and office procedures are designed with security in mind. Our website holds an SSL security certificate, uses 128 bit encryption technology and all credit cards details are destroyed after use.

Privacy Policy -
We will always respect your privacy and, apart from essential information requested by our credit card processing bank, we will never share or sell your details and we will never contact you unless it is in direct relation to your order.

Complaints and Constructive Criticism -
We always aim to give excellent customer service and we have designed this website to offer the perfect language bookselling experience. If you have any complaints or constructive criticism on how we could improve our service, please write to us and we promise to give you a personal reply as soon as possible.

Authors and Publishers -
We always welcome suggestions from authors and publishers regarding title suggestions and distribution enquiries.

Bookshops, book distributors, academic institutions and government departments -
We would be pleased to open an account for you and discuss your language learning requirements and terms. If you already have an account with us, please enter your reference (and delivery details if different) in the 'Additional comments" field and follow the prompt to by-pass entering your card details during the ordering process.

Bibliographic data -
All the bibliographic data on this site has been compiled by us since 1990. We have recently started scanning images and inside pages of the books and aim to continue with increasing the quantity of images on our site. Unlike the vast majority of booksellers, we do not use any "bought in" commercial data. The advantage this brings is a depth of knowledge and accuracy, together with facilities such as back cover and sample page images, detailed descriptions and cross-referencing, that we hope will make the browsing and purchase of language learning material a more pleasurable experience.
